Taking A Look At The Cavs Offensive Blueprint
Cleveland's 135-116 win in Washington on Saturday night gave a glimpse into what the Cavs can be offensively.
The first back-to-back of an NBA season can produce funky results. Until this weekend, no one on the Cleveland Cavaliers had played in an NBA game on back-to-back days since last April.
There was nothing strange about how things went for the Cavs, though, in a 135-116 win.
The biggest bright spot from the win over Washington for Cleveland was the play of Darius Garland, who finished with 23 points and five assists. After being limited by foul trouble in the season opener in Toronto and playing a rather average game against the Pistons on Friday night, Garland was terrific in Washington.
If the Cavs get the sort of performance out of Garland he displayed on Saturday, the team can be one of basketball’s best. He attacked the basket, made clean, creative passes to open teammates, and, most importantly, shot the ball well from beyond the arc.
Garland looked like an All-Star caliber player against the Wizards.
