Jarrett Allen is Unsung Hero of the Cleveland Cavaliers
How Allen's teammates talk about him speaks volumes.
Jarrett Allen doesn’t get enough credit.
Ask any player in the locker room or any of the coaches on Kenny Atkinson’s staff in Cleveland and that’s what they’ll tell you.
“We've got two of the best bigs in the league. We're lucky. And these guys battle; they don't get a lot of credit, especially Jarrett Allen,” Max Strus said in February. “What he does for this team is unmatched, and he just doesn't want anybody to talk about it, so I will.”
Allen might not be the forgotten member of the Core Four, but in a league where the Big Three was a big deal once upon a time, he’s the fourth when it comes to attention. Donovan Mitchell is going to receive MVP votes, Evan Mobley might as well. Darius Garland returned to form this year, making his second All-Star team.
“He's kind of the unsung hero on this team,” Cavs head coach Kenny Atkinson said. “Everybody loves him, right? He's probably the most beloved guy on the team.”
