CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers have become a consistent team, just in the wrong ways.

Sunday’s 119-111 overtime loss to the Charlotte Hornets felt like a game the Cleveland Cavaliers have played before. They play OK at times early, lose grasp with the opponent and the requisite compete level in the middle, and then turn it on both offensively and defensively in the fourth quarter.

Sometimes, like Friday against the Washington Wizards, that’s enough. Sometimes, like Sunday evening against the Hornets, it’s not.

This has turned into Cleveland’s version of Groundhog Day. The plot mostly remains the same but the minor details change. When those details change, it’s not often different enough to tell the difference.

“I mean, at this point, it’s a repetitive -- it’s the same thing,” swingman Jaylon Tyson said. “We get down by a lot and in fourth quarter and we turn it on.”
