Game Night Observations: How Evan Mobley is Changing and Caris LeVert's Impact
Surprise, surprise, the Cleveland Cavaliers won again.
The Cleveland Cavaliers pushed their winning streak to nine games on Friday night with a 134-122 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
The Cavs have gone to a new level this season because of the play of Evan Mobley. This isn’t breaking news. He’s put together an All-Star caliber campaign from the moment the season began. He had a big game on opening night in Toronto, but the way he’s progressed offensively is worth talking about.
Early in the season, when Mobley would have a big night, it was because of how well he was able to get to the basket. His tracking numbers were showing that he was driving to the basket at a much higher rate than ever before in his career. During the offseason he added muscle to his frame and was putting that to work. Mobley started the season as a much better, stronger basketball player. After thinking all summer the way to make the pairing of Mobley and Jarrett Allen work was expanding the shooting range for Mobley, it looked like that wasn’t needed to find success.
Then the last month happened.
